A brown one means it's shiny! You have about a 1/8,192 chance of encountering the shiny Pokemon in any of the games and you found one! Good job ^-^. There's not really any difference in them, just the color though :(

Kool. You just caught a shiny pokemon. A shiny Pokemon is just like the "twin" of the other Pokemon except it's a different colour. It has no advantage or anything. It's the same Pokemon just coloured differently and extremely rare.

The brown arbok is a shiny Pokemon but the other Pokemon is not.

It's shiny. Keep it, it's really rare. Don't ever get rid of it. Ever. When I say rare, I mean it's super rare. one in about 8,400! Shiny Pokemon are so rare, that you'd be lucky if you ever come across one again.

Apart from that, no, not really. Their stats and moves and everything else is the same. It's just the appearance that is different.

Every body is right about the rarity. One thing they forgot is that the defense stat is high. Higher than it should be. That is good. Never ever ever !!!, get rid of it. GOOD JOB!!!!!! :D ^-^

yes everyone is right about the rarity but everyone is wrong about the stats keep in mind that for some reason(still unknown) all shiny pokemon's stats are LOWER NOT HIGHER OR THE SAME than a regular pokemon's stats they are great for show but if your level 70 brown Arbok battled a full team of lv 50 pokemon it would still have just a 5 in 10 chance of winning where as a lv 70 purple Arbok would have a 7 in 10 to 8 in 10 chance of winning but i definitely suggest keeping it after all with the proper training and right moves both the brown and purple Arbok's chances become equal but also be warned that when both at the same lv the purple Arbok will always have a slight advantage
