If you equip it with a porygon and Trade it it will evole into a porygon 2

It evolves porygon into porygon 2.

You give it to Porygon and Trade it to Evolve it to Porygon2

Upgrade is used as a holding evolution item.Make a Porygon hold it and Trade it to a friend, then it evolves to a Porygon2.
