Theres the old myth that if you hit 'up' and 'A' or any other combination of buttons at the perfect time that it will become a masterball. I've tried it just about everytime I've tossed a pokeball from the original red through silver, fire red and Emerald and while it seems that it feels like it works sometimes, it's probably just a fluke. So there isnt a fool proof way to turn a pokeball into a masterball unless youve got a stupid gameshark or action replay then you can basically do whatever the heck you want.

Dude, I think that you hold up + A at the same time before it opens.But it's probaly not true
