There is still a strange Pokemon, but you cannot catch it like you could in the previous games. Missingno. Is created because the area in which the Pokemon data is nothing, and the game will load the previous data. Missingno was created because they needed to store the information to change the players name and sprites to Old Man. Just for fun, they named this Pokemon Missingno., for the missing number. So, when you talk to the Old Man in red/blue, the Pokemon area data changes to Missingno.. Once you fly to cinnabar island, the area data is still unedited, and on the very edge of the island is still considered cinnabar with no data, so, it loads the Missingno., or other previous data. In order to catch him in firered, you need to find an area like cinnabar. To save some time, none exist. You can use an AR to catch some, with certain cheats that allow you acess to areas with no area data. (man that question's a mouthful... Or typeful...) The best team should have Pokemon of all different types, with a wide range of moves, all different type moves. And for Mewtwo, Mew, and deoxys, teach them a bunch of strong moves of all different types. Although, for celebi, and can't learn such a wide range of moves, focus on grass and phychic type moves. Hope that helped!
