Question for Pokemon FireRed

Hello, I just fixed the "save error" problem in Pokemon fire red but when I do save, my progress isn't there. It says I successfully saved but when I start up the game again, it brings me to the tutorial and start up screen as if I've never played the game before, and i didn't have this problem when i downloaded ruby. Please help me. note: it's a download to my pc from coolrom.com not a actual gameboy advance.

It seems like something is wrong with your game. I would recommend you purchase a new game. I've seen this before, and the end results is always that the game is useless.

Hope this helps!

Try downloading a different file. That might help.

nope. i might have found something that has something to do with it. when i downloaded and started playing pokemon ruby, every time i play it, at the start it says "loaded battery" in bright red letters every time i play it. but in fire red it doesn't. and i never had problems with ruby.

I'm assuming that you're using Visual Boy Advance emulator. Here's what you do: Open vba.exe. Go to options > Emulator > Save Type and click on Flash 128k.. Then file>open and click on the fire red file. When playing the game, save in-game by pressing start>save.

Your save file is most likely corrupted, or your ROM is corrupted. Try deleting the save file and starting over or re-downloading the ROM from another site.
