I need to know how do you get past the snorlax in the middle of the road and if you have to get something please tell me where it is!

Go to Celadon City Game Corner and beat the Rockets out of their hideout there. Giovanni will drop the Silph Scope. Go to the top of the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town and beat the Marowak ghost. Go up further and beat out the Rockets. Talk to Mr. Fuji and he will give you the Poke Flute. Use it to wake up Snorelax.
