Question for Pokemon FireRed

Once again: I play on pc, and I still can't play after beaten the Elite Four.
Even if I have caught 60 kinds of pokemons, prof. Oak won't give me the national pokedex.

I have heard something about changing some options, and yesterday I found out which. So now, I have changed the "save type" from Flash 64k to Flash 128k. But it still come credits and "THE END" when I beat the Elite Four!! Do I have to change the save type before I start a game? Please help, and say it in detail if you know how to solve my problem

This is due to a problem in translating the game data from files that the GBA can read to data that a computer can read, which is in place to discourage piracy. You're out of luck.

Change the Save type before you start and delete all your old save files .sav .sav1, etc. Or they'll prevent your new settings from working.
