Question for Pokemon FireRed

I am totally lost only started to play these games again recently and I can't remember how to get into saffron city , I have 5 badges and am recently after getting surf

To get to Saffron City you first need to go to Celadon City and enter the Game Freak building. In there a Women will give you Tea, you need this to use on the guard in the entrance that is leading to Saffron City, after that head just East and instead of taking the underground tunnel head into the gateway and the guy will stop you but the with the Tea he will allow you to pass, when you pass that and exit the gateway then you will be in Saffron City.
