Well, the easiest way to beat him is to use a ghost type on him but u could just level up a pokemostrong n way up and beat him. Or you could also just beat him with a really strong fire or poison type on him.

Its easy.. If u have blastoise or wartortle.. Maybe u have bite so.. If u have X Accuracy.. U use it to blastoise/wartortle... Then use bite... It's super effective! It's an easy way to defeat gengar..Guest answered:
Well what I did was lvl up my Moltres to 73 and used fire blast and it kills him in one hit

A normal type Pokemon is your best bet. Thats because ghost type moves doesn't effect normal type Pokemon and vice versa. Make your normal type Pokemon learn some dark or ghost type moves, they're effective against a gengar.
