Off Island Five, you will find an area called Memorial Pillar. Go to the island on which the stone pillar stands (it's the grave of an Onix named Tectonix), and walk to the item marker by the mourner. That item is Metal Coat.

You go to island 6 and Surf down until you get to Memorial Pillar, you will see an item ball that has metal coat in it.

You can get the metal coat from the Five Island at the Memorial Pillar, it will be on beside a rock were the boy is with the rock of his TECTONIX, it is on the side of one rock going down the stairs from the other side.
