Question for Pokemon FireRed
Can you be a boy or a girl? And since this is a souped up version of Red, are the starters Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle? And can You catch Johto/Hoenn Pokemon in it?

1) No you can only be a boy in this version.
2) Yes the starters are Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle.
3) You can catch a limited amount of Jhoto and Hoenn Pokemon, but you can't enter the reigons themselves. (The only reigon is Kanto, with the added islands!)

You can be a boy or a girl and yes the starters are the onos from the old games. And you can catch tons of Johto Pokemon. But the only Hoenn one to get is the legenedary Deoxys, otherwise you've got to Trade everything else from R/S.
