Uknown Chambers

What do you need to do in the uknown chambers? I have no idea what to do I've been to some of them and saw uknowns.Do you need to capture them in order to solve the secret? I also have a second question~in the seventh island there is this house with an old lady in it. Near her there are boxes covering an entrance and when you press A it says you can fee a breeze. Can you get past those boxes?

I think you have to catch them, at least one of each and I dont think you can
