Cant carry on with my adventure

I have played Pokemon fire red normally and I know that there is more to the game after the league but when I play it on my visual boy advance it says after the credits "The End" then the screen goes black and thats it can someone help tell me how to carry on?

Actually, before the credits, the game will save so when you beat the game, you are able to continue your quest. I don't know whats with the screen goiing black thing though. Just turn off/reset the game by pressing a and b select and start

Check your Pokemon FireRed ROM. Make sure it's downloaded from a fine website.
Some websites often contain defective ROMs.
