The masterball should have worked on Mewtwo. The masterball just has to hit the Pokemon and it is immediately caught. Don't know why it didn't work. With the other pokeballs, it is a change thing. Kind of like rolling a dice, the probability of catching a Pokemon with lower hit points will be higher to a Pokemon with higher pokemon. But you probably knew that already.

actualy the chance of a master ball failing is 0.00.15% approximately the chance of finding 6 shinys

Your friend isn't being entirely honest, I believe.

A masterball will catch a Pokemon without fail. Perhaps his game is glitched? Or he is using cheat hardware/software, which alters the catch rate of the pokeballs.

Potentially, you can use any sort of pokeball to catch any sort of Pokemon, yes, even a regular pokeball for a lvl70 Mewtwo... But the chances are a lot slimmer. And ultraballs failing on a level 70 Pokemon, even a weakened one, is pretty common, so no problem there... I have gone into battle with a level 70 groudon with 30 ultra balls, 30 great balls and a few pokeballs and a premier ball... (same catch rate as a regular pokeball except it is white)

Yep. I used up every ball I had (barring the Master Ball I had that I was saving for the Lati) and caught it with the Premier ball. SO it is possible. Just unlikely.

Im not sure you mean Master Ball cause the game has a bad problem if a master ball didnt work the pokeball also that can happen after a while I take it the Pokemon tries to get out of stronger balls not weaker {it sound weird but possible}

If you face a Pokemon even kind of Pokemon use poke ball then throw your gameboy hard as you can then you catch the Pokemon
