Pokemon Newbie

I'm new to Pokemon and I was wondering do you guys have any recommendations on Pokemon I should get. Right now I have a wartortle(31) pidgeotto(29) pikachu(27) and a dugtrio(36). I want to get a growlithe but don't know if I should. Please someone help out ASAP!!

Okay, okay, seems like a good team so far. Make sure that you continue to train all of your Pokemon equally, it will be better off in the end. You cannot find a growlithe right now, he comes later in the game, but you might want to go and find an Abra, and Evolve it into a Kadabra, it is always good to have a psychic Pokemon with you. If you do want to get a growlithe, then go for it, but wait till Cinnibar Island.
