Question for Pokemon Emerald

Hi am new here. I have completed the Pokemon league in Pokemon emerald. I have heard about a cave called "altering cave" which is located at route 103. But when I went inside the cave at, there was nothing in there but only wild Zubats were there. So I have two questions to ask -
1. What is the importance or significance of this cave?
2. Is there any secret or mystery behind this?

I have this game too and it vexed me for a while until I read about it. I had to look in both the Emerald handbook and online walkthroughs and what I figured out was that originally the cave was going to be an add-on for a new Pokemon or area that they were going to put into the game but the designers decided it wouldn't be worth and and forgot to take it out. The cave is pretty much useless except for catching zubat and a few rare Pokemon which hardly ever appear there (can't remember which ones off hand but you can find them other places so don't worry to much on it). Other than that I think it's just another pointless place.

The only importance of the cave is that it changes Pokemon every time you use a mystery gift or go to a nintendo event. It changes to a jhoto (sorry about the spelling)pokemon. To get the mystery gift you must go to a Pokemon mart. As soon as you walk in turn left and walk all the way up to the counter. Fill in the questionare with the words LINK TOGETHER WITH ALL.

There is no real mystery behind it.

1. Something about using wonder spots in real life changes the Pokemon in the cave. I don't know anything about wonder spots, so don't ask.

There really isn't anything important about it. If you have an E-Reader, then you can make different Pokemon appear there, but otherwise it's useless.
