Right now i'm up to the 6th gym and I was wondering if I should take my lombre out of my team because he sucks? He's up with the same level as the rest of my team (late 30's) but he just is always getting killed and he sucks at attack. Can you tell me what will be a good replacement for lombre. Thanks.

Try using a leaf stone and evolving him into a Shiftry.
I'm sorry, I meant use a water stone and evolve it into Ludicolo.
It depends on what your party consists of, if you are looking for a grass type I would suggest getting cacturn, or maybe a seedot as bot are grass and dark type when they evolve.
Ok here is your strategy do not get rid of him evolve him with water stone. He should have stronger stats now teach one of your strongest monster an electric attack and for altaria an ice attack or dragon. Bring revives if your electric move monster faints bring out your lombre or ludicolo and use revive.
It would really help if you told us what your other Pokmon were. -_-" Otherwise I can't give you an experienced suggestion.
Have you got a water stone?
Use that to evolve your Lombre into a Ludicolo, it will up it's special attack and special defense, and since it's a dual type (water and grass) it is actually quite a good Pokemon to have on your party. I've had many a battle lost against a really strong Ludicolo, especially if it has the "rain dish" ability. As this helps it to regain hp during battle if it's raining, and it makes it stronger against grass and electric attacks because it also has the grass type. Work on this Pokemon, making it much stronger, if it doesnt know the move "rain dance" teach it using a tm, it's a worthy defence move for this Pokemon, even if it has "swift swim" as it's ability, in stead of "rain dish".
Its a really good Pokemon if you work at it! Hang in there!
Yes, an addendum to my last answer, the problem you are having against Winona, is that youre trying to use a grass type Pokemon (even though it is also water type) against a flying type gym leader! Try using electric types here. Rock types are good against flying type too (but make sure you don't use ground moves, because they don't work on any flying type!)
Winona uses swablu:flying/normal
altaria:flying/dragon
tropius:flying/grass
pelipper:flying/water
skarmory:flying/steel
If you have a strong fire type, armed with fire moves, it's good for the skarmory and the tropius (strong against steel and grass)
If you have an ice type (unlikely unless youve traded) or dragon type they will be good against the altarias dragon type
And a stron electric type or two would be excellent for this team, especially against the pelipper, both it's types (flying and water) are weak against it!
A good rock type is ok, but might meet it's match against the pelipper. grass, fighting, water, are all going to have a tough time here, and any ground moves just wont make a dint!
Replace him with a Pokemon that's good at fighting flying Pokemon, since the 6th gym leader uses mainly flying type Pokemon. But if you already have a Pokemon like that, then get a Bagon and evolve it. Believe me, they kick butt.
I would suggest you fight tons of people and get a lot of cash. Then go back to mauville (yes it's going to be a long trip),and get 4000 coins. Cash them in for ice beam. If you're still having bad luck, start training a manectric.
Oh and don't evolve your lombre until lv.49,reason being, he'll learn hydro pump. Whenever you get the tm for giga drain, teach it to the lombre/ludicolo.
Then go teach him fake out. If you're catching on he'll know hydro pump, giga drain, ice beam and fake out. I'm just assuming you want to keep it so I'm giving you a moveset with a fighting chance. Remember, NEVER teach something 4 moves of the same type. How would you kill something if you can't do good damage? If you need help with team building or movesets, ask a question. (I have other names on here but you'll know by my answers).
