How do you get stars on your trainer card and what do you use them for?

The stars have no use really, just for show. You get the stars by doing any of these accomplishments:

1. Beating the Elite Four.
2. Completing the Hoenn PokeDex.
3. Win all Master Rank conests.
4. Get all symbols in the Battle Frontier(I'm sure it's all Gold)

The star's are only decoration's...you will get them by completing different task like defeating the Elite 4..breeding 100+ eggs..etc.

There are four stars.

1) Defeat the Elite 4 for the first time.
2) Collect all 7 Gold Battle Frontier Symbols.
3) Win in all 5 Master-Rank Contests.
4) Complete the Hoenn Dex.

They really have no use, they just make your Trainer Card look pretty.

In Emerald you can get them a few ways: 1, win many link battles, 2, hatch tons of eggs, 3, win a lot in the Battle Fronteir/ get all of the symbols, 4, complete the Pokedex... That's all I can think of for now...
