Is it possible to catch a Mew in this game and if so where is it and how do I get there

Yes but it's very sophisticated. Mew is only obtainable here in Emerald. Beating him is not the problem. Getting to his island is. Faraway Island,dweling place of Mew..you can only get there by the special ticket/map called the Old Sea Chart, if the ticket is working the lady in the slateport dock's will take you to the island itself but if the ticket is not working there are other choice. You must get yourself a cheat device called Action Replay or Gameshark and put on a code that designate's to warp on Mew's island or see him every where by a modifier code. Your choice but doing this will have a side effect. Mew will have 50-50 chance's of obeying after you catch him so don't get your hope's up. Mew's stats are fairly poor so it's not worth it for a team.

No, you would have to use a cheating device like a gameshark/action replay.
