You put the GS/AR in the game slot first, then you put the game in the GS/AR's thicker slot.

First, you need a GameShark or Action Replay, or whatever you happen to be using. Put the game in the Device's slot. And put your device in the GBA slot. Now turn your GBA/DS/Whatever your using on. Then you need to follow the instructions, like most add codes if there already isin't codes for your game on it.

GameShark and ActionReplay are cheating devices you buy, it's not built into the games.
