Question for Pokemon Emerald

Hi their! I am up to just before entering Fortree City. I know my Pokemon still need training but anyway, I really want a Feebas. Should I wait till later to get one? Cause I have already scanned like a third of the water neared Fortree.

You should get one, feebas is a rare fish so catch as many as you can!!!

Zelda Fan answered:

You have to fish for it,use a super rod and fish for it at Dewferd Island.

Darth Trayus answered:

You're supposed to use ( I believe) the old rod while swimming near the weather institute

It would be best to wait. You wouldn't be able to have a Milotic already anyways. You also wouldn't be able to train it enough to match the rest of your party.

Aeon-Flux answered:

You probably should wait, no reason to be flying back and forth from Dewford.

BBG_CREECAT answered:

First of all, you need to use the Good Rod if not the Super Rod-the Old Rod won't work as far as I can tell. You're in the right area, though, and as long as you have FLY you can attempt it. You need to go along the areas that you can fish from the ground-there are 6 general areas along Rt 119 that Feebas will switch around to based upon the SAYING in Dewford-NOT what the saying is, but he'll change areas whenever the Dewford Trendy Phrase is changed. My best advice is to go to that spot that you'd reach if you were heading back from Fortree to Rt 119, and you go down 4 sets of steps until you are at the water and there are 3 spaces to walk on. Drop your line into the 3 blocks of water just under the strip of land-those are the ones he'll definitely be in if he's in that area. Try like 10-15 times-especially with the Good Rod, the Super Rod is usually faster-and if he doesn't show up on your hook, then go change the saying in Dewford to anything else, and try again to fish for him in the same spots. Repeat until you finally get him. It's just a matter of patience, so turn off the animation so it goes quicker, and put your rod on select. Also, if you trade records with someone else, Feebas will show up in the same place in both games, so if your friend has found them, they'll appear in the same spots in your game. If he didn't find him yet or cannot locate him at the time, then Feebas will often show up in another one of his areas on the SW side of Rt 119 in the water near the fisherman in both games. Once you find him once, you'll be able to get a bunch right then, and he'll be easier to find later on, too. I think I have a post in the hint section-a long one-that goes into a lot more detail-that was posted a long time ago, if you want to look for it. Good Luck!
