1. Yeah it would work but I think a GBA is so much better than a Nintendo DS [to play a GBA game, that is].
2. You've gotten the hitters, basically, Swampert also being a ground type can stand up to Seviper and Shuckle, so use earthquake on them, and Raichu for Milotic. So it really wouldn't matter who the third Pokemon would be, however I'd reccomend a fire type, such as Camerupt.
3. Besides the fact your Pokemon can gain a great amount of levels? No, nothing special happens except after beating it once.

1) Yes a DS will play Gameboy Advanced games. It will not play Gameboy Color games or anything below them.

2)Swapert and Raichu will work will for her. I sugesset a psychic or any Pokemon with the ability Immunity. Like Zangoose. This will prevent her from poisoning you.

3)Nothing happens on this game after beating the League so many times. (Well as far as I know)

3.You can get Latias and Latios on the Hoenn games. The others you will be able to get Mewtwo after you beat the Elite 4 and fix the trade machine completely.

1) On a DS, there is a DS slot for DS Games, and there is a GBA Slot, where you can put GBA games, so yes.
2) Swampert needs Earthquake to help against Seviper. Shuckle will annoy the hell out of you with Toxic, and it has Rest, so be prepared. Surf is an OK choice, but wouldnt reccomend it. Raichu is an OK choice, but I prefer Raikou. A good Pokemon to consider for you're 3rd slot is somebody like Venasaur because he can cover for Swampert's 4X Weakness to Grass.
3) No, in FireRed/LeafGreen you get ribbons or something like that though.
