Hi, would it be worth it to raise a spheal from level 30 and evolve it?
What types should I use against sydney?

Yes, because he evolves into Sealeo at level 32 and then into Walerin at level 44. Hopefully knowing body slam and aurora beam (at least), continue training him.

I think so,and you should use fighting and fire/electric/flying types against Sydney.

Well sheal will evolve faster if you raise it from level 30.
Sydney uses dark types, so you should defenitly use either bug or fighting type moves.

Ah, I just noticed I answered part of the question. >.< So yeah. Sydney uses Mightyena, Absol (both Dark), Shiftry, Cacturne (both Grass/Dark), and Crawdaunt (Water/Dark). So my suggestion is to use a fighting type against Mightyena and Absol, either a fire or ice type agains Shiftry and Cacturne, and either an electric or grass type against Crawdaunt. Make sure that your Pokemon are AT LEAST level 50.

Yes,if you wanted to evolve it quicker but no if you want it to learn better moves. The best type to use against Sidney is a fighting type.

If you have any doubts about your spheal and have some time on your hands then what I would do is go and get an egg. The lower the level on your Pokemon when you catch it the better it will be as you train it. When you catch higher level Pokemon they tend to not have as good stats as one at a lower level that you take the time to trian.
You should use fighing and fire mostly against sidney. He has dark duel types.
