Question for Pokemon Emerald

Can anyone please give me some codes that really work? Please post them. Also what are patch roms and all that stuff? Can anyone explain how to get pokemons using the action replay max?Thanks for posting and please post things that DO WORK AND BE SPECIFIC AND USE MANY DETAILS TO BE UNDERSTOOD.
