I may think it's not doubling, but it probably is dude.

godzillaboy96 answered:

If your leveling them up with Rare Candies it might not double the stats but it does double the stats when you level them up in battle.

They are telling you bogus stuff, Sorry!

Youve almost got it right, pokerus doubles the EV's your Pokemon receives from battling. So instead of getting one EV if gets 2, or 4 if it's also holding the macho brace. How it works is that for every 4 EVs youre Pokemon gets one extra stat point in that attribute. You get 510 EVs total and a max of 252 can be used on one stat. Combining precise EV training with a good nature can really tank your stats. Ill do the math for you, 252/4= 63 so thats 63 bonus points you can get for whatever stat you want, but if you notice 510/4=127.5 so theres 127 max extra points usually for 2 dominant stats with one somewhere else, and point EVs that mean essentially nothing. Ill give you some examples of EVs you gain from certain Pokemon, zubat 1-speed, Spinda 1-sp. Attack, Mightyena/absol 2-attack, tentacool 1-sp defense, koffing 1-defense, whismur 1-HP. Now you wont see the stats going up by a ton of points each level but it wont be uncommon to see +5 or +6. Hope it wasnt too long and it was informative.

It doesn't double anything. When you walk steps, it looks at all Pokemon in your party in order that have it, then every step you take it adds 1 point on a random stat.....or something like that...or that is what I read. Happy pokerus =)
