Question for Pokemon Emerald

I want to know the codes on action replay for all the pokemons on emerald but I don't understand how to put them I have tryed but I think I keep getting them wrong will anyone help me. Please be specific and what is a patch rom or something like that I don't understand that either.Please help me even if you can only help me in one way. Thank you

Read the manuel I don't have one but you need to set the stteing to somefactory setting or something
