Question for Pokemon Emerald

I am stuck I'm am at the battle fronter I have watered the plant with my wailmer pail and went through the cave and found nothing where do I go

That cave is just for more Pokemon, basically that cave is nothing.

The only point on the cave is to catch smeargle.

There's nothing in that cave but Smergul,so it's a good place to catch a Smergul.
