Question for Pokemon Emerald

Hi,

I am new to Pokemon Emerald, I was wondering if someone could perhaps name some Pokemon I could catch. It would be much appreciated.

Starter is your choice, but I prefer Mudkip.

Catch the following Pokemon, they're great to start with and even greater when they evolve. They are all catchable before the 2nd gym:

Ralts or Abra (They're both rare but try to be patient. You'll benefit from their evolutions. I prefer Ralts since you don't need trading for it to evolve)
Wingull or Taillow (For a flying pokemon)
Lotad or Shroomish (If you chose a Wingull, go with Shroomish, but it's ok if you also go with Lotad)
Aron (Already after the 1st gym, although the double weakness it has great moves)
Wurmple (Beautifly and Dustox are both great, but I prefer Dustox)
Poochyena (You'll need a dark type soon)

Here are other options, in case you don't like the above:

Nincada (HM Slave, also great if it becomes Shedinja)
Whismur or Slakoth (Whismur's great when it becomes Exploud, Slakoth is rare but when it becomes Slaking, it would reck havoc)
Makuhita (You'll need a fighting type on your adventure, but I prefer Machop. Still Makuhita when it evolves is great)
Sableye (Having no weakness is always great, but I don't really like the pokemon...)
Zigzagoon (Fast when it evolves to Linoone, great Normal Type)

Remember all of these Pokemon are catchable before the 2nd gym.

There is like 50 Pokemon you can catch when you start. It's too complicated. Just follow your heart.
