Question for Pokemon Emerald

I can't select new game. The arrow keys work, but when I try to select either new game or options, It doesn't respond.

I think you mean you're on VBA right? Here's what you do:
Find the configure for joypad "2" and bind the keys to what you would like the to be.
Then use 2 as the default joypad

Hi! I had a similar problem and the solution to this problem is to literally press random keys until you find the correct key. My select button was "M".
