If you click on your Bag, there should be a Section where you can view the TMs and HMs that you have obtained. If you teach a HM to one of your Pokemon, they can use them outside of battle. However, most HMs require a certain number of Gym Badges before they can be used outside of battle. After you teach them a HM Move, click on something outside of battle (A little tree for HM Cut, a boulder for HM Strength, etc). The Pokemon will then perform the Move.
You need HM01 (Cut) to cut little trees. HM01 (Cut can be obtained in Rustboro City.

what kind of pokemon can use this?Guest answered:
I obtained the HM cut in rustboard city, but then when I looked for it in the house on route 110, it was gone. Do you know what happened? I have the gym badge.
