For someone who's about halfway through the game, yes. Just keep working at it, I'm sure it'll turn into a great team near the end of the game.

Just get rid of Poochyena after evolving. Its stats suck. If you want a good Dark Pokemon, wait till you reach Fortree City and capture and Absol, or evolve a Seedot into Nuzleaf. When Taillow evolves into Swellow, it is a great Pokemon to use. Also, beware of Vigoroth evolving into Slaking. It gets the Truant ability which means it will only fight on alternate turns. A better Normal Pokemon would be Linoone with Belly Drum. The best team(for the Elite Four) would be:
One Dragon Pokemon (kills Drake)
One Ice/Water Pokemon (kills Drake)
One flying Pokemon (useful in killing Sidney)
One Electric Pokemon (kills Glacia/Wallace)
One Dark Pokemon(especially for Phoebe)
One Grass/Fighting Pokemon (fighting kills Sidney/Glacia, Grass kills Wallace)
