It's all luck, really. It's incredibly hard to find them, but go through enough grass, and you'll eventually find a shiny Pokemon. No cheating way around it.

There is no "method" for catching more shiny Pokémon other that by way of a gameshark or Action Replay, but there is some good news (i suppose). The odds of finding a shiny Pokémon in the wild are 1 in 8,192 battles, which is far more common than the 3 in 65,000 chance of finding a pokemon with the Pokerus (which i found before any shiny pokemon). However, the bad news is that you can even see trainers with shiny pokemon in the game (although this would be much much rarer due to the fact the average player will run into more wild Pokémon than tainer owned.
