Could you help me build a team?

Having just finished playing Pokemon soul Silver to death and having a couple of days of free time on my hands I've just restarted Pokemon emerald for the fourth or fifth time, and I'm sick and tired of constructing the same generic team over and over again, could you guys please help me out with this?

At the moment I have:

Torkoal lvl 20
Ember
Body slam
Fire spin
Smoke screen

Swablu lvl 22
Peck
Fury attack
Astonish
Sing

Skitty lvl 23
Flash
Roll out
Double slap
Attract

Mightyena lvl 24
Tackle
Roar
Rock smash
Bite

Marshstomp lvl 27
Foresight
Bide
Mud shot
Surf

Breloom lvl 28
Mega drain
Headbutt
Mach punch
Leech seed

Id definatly like to get rid of skitty and mightyena but I'm unsure about the rest. Could you please give me advice on what other Pokemon and/or movesets I should adopt.

Sure. It is very easy. First you have knock out skitty or mightyena because having two Pokemon weak to same type is a waste of time. I prefer mightyena because will be useful in mossdeep gym. For the six Pokemon you should get a powerhouse Pokemon like nosepass which you can find in dewford cave or sableye which is a ghost/dark type Pokemon and that means he don't have any weak, and if learn him some powerful attack he will be perfect. For example my sableye when I beat elite four:

Sableye lvl 53
Phychic
Shadow Ball
Hidden Power
Aerial Ace/Thunder,Ice or Fire Punch

Sure, I'll help you out.

Torkoal - Make sure it keeps Body Slam. Other moves I recommend are Curse and Flamethrower. For the fourth move, make sure it's something of a physical type. I'd personally recommend Iron Tail, as it helps Torkoal take care of Rock types, which would otherwise give him trouble. A couple of Curses and he'll take anything they can dish out and destroy them with Iron Tail.

Swablu - Even when it evolves into Altaria, it's not particularly strong. I recommend, when it's Altaria, you teach it Earthquake, Aerial Ace and something like Steel Wing, and keep Dragon Dance when it learns it at level 40. Dragon Dance boosts both Attack and Speed, so you can sweep through opponents with a moveset like this. You can ignore Steel Wing and teach Dragon Claw, if you want. It won't be boosted by Dragon Dance as it's power comes from Special Attack, but you'll get a 50% power boost from it due to it being a same type move.

Skitty - When Game Freak created this Pokemon, they accidentally put in a 'k' where an 'h' should have been. Get rid of it. Replace with Gardevoir (evolves from Kirlia, which evolves from Ralts). Gardevoir learns Calm Mind and Psychic by leveling up. Also, teach it Thunderbolt and a fourth move of your choice, perhaps Substitute. Mightyena - Another rubbish pokemon. Replace with...hmm...perhaps Weezing? It's good. Catch a Koffing and evolve it. Teach Weezing Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower and something like Return or Body Slam.

Marshtomp - When it's a Swampert, use this moveset: Surf, Earthquake (learned by level up, so don't worry about using your only TM on Altaria), Ice Beam and Brick Break. Rock Slide is a better option than Brick Break, but you can't get it until after you've completed the main quest.

Breloom - I've always liked teaching him Focus Punch and Substitute. Use Substitute, and Focus Punch everything until your Substitute breaks, in which case you create another one. Leech Seed or Stun Spore as a third move. You might want to give it both of these, although I wouldn't recommend having just one attacking move. Perhaps throw Return in as a fourth move, or maybe Sludge Bomb or Iron Tail so that you can hurt Ghosts, although you'll need to use those two TMs on other pokemon. If you don't like the Substitute and Focus Punch combo, keep Leech Seed and either possibly keep Mach Punch for quick business or use Stun Spore, keep your physical fourth move and either keep Sky Uppercut when Breloom learns it (level 36) or teach him Brick Break. Since Swampert needs Brick Break, it might well be Sky Uppercut.

There you go, hope I helped.
