I'm in the part where you have to get 40 mega chips. I have 39 and 1 to go... I went to S rank the navis so I could get a SP chip from them but when I fought the SP version of Gyroman, I only got Gyroman (non SP version). Is there something I'm doing wrong? (I've beaten him at Oran several times now)

To get GyroMan SP chip you must beat him in under 30 seconds and not get hit at all. For every 2 seconds under 30 seconds that you beat him his chip will power up by either 10 or 5 (10 if it's a single hit, 5 if it's a multi hit). I don't really know whose chips classify as single and whose classify as multi.
