No, you are supposed to beat bass by collecting all of the standard level chips to open up the door to fight bass.

After you beat bass you go through a trial with 5 undernet navies in undernet5 to win the 5 evil chips.

Then go to undernet6 go the the black hole and access the area black earth the most dangerous place in the game.

You can get the 5 evilchips after you defeatit \bass
1battle bass (I don't know if a s rank is needed)

2.3.4: somwhere in the undernet there are tree healnavi's these will give you tree evilchips but you need to pass a 10 round survival battle in order to get the 3 evilchips

5: next to the enterance of the black earth you can get into full syncro somehow.

then when your in full syncro find a wally and a eployer ex to get a s rank the best thing you can do is get the gardian chip in the beginning to get a s rank.

Then when you get the fifth evilchip you can enter the black earth the most dangerous place in the game.
