Question for Jackie Chan Adventures: Legend of the Dark Hand

Could someone please tell me how to do a rollie pollie on Jackie Chan Adventures because I'm stuck on the dark hands handout and can't get under the gate

Just press the forward arrow button twice and rapidly, it should do a good rollie pollie.
