Question for Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town

First of all, Hi everyone this is my first post and it happens to be on the Harvest Moon FAQ which is a great game by the way.

Anyway, my question is about the dog. It is the 3rd Year, 15th of Summer but my dog is still a puppy. According to guides and FAQs, it should have grown up by 30th of Summer/1st of Autumn, why hasn't mine grown yet? Are there special reqiurements?

-You have to pick it up and put it down everyday by pressing the A button.
-Don't use you hammer, sickle, axe, or your hoe when you dog is next to you. You can hurt him doing that.
-It helps increase his affection by buying him a frisbee and ball at won's shop on the beach, just use the frisbee on the beach when you have it with you and your dog, press A against the sign next to Kai's shop. ((Only in Spring, Summer, and Fall))
