I've heard first store your bag with medicine from the hospital or that you made. Then save before you strike your hammer or hoe, and search until you find the way down. After finding it, turn off and load, and ladder will be in the same spot. Go down, and repeat.
It takes time, but if you're determined, it's the best way to go.
