Question for Golden Sun

Umm, I've gotten past this part before when I played (an beat) the game, but I haven't played in a while and can't remember how to get back through Mogall Forest (from Xian -> Fuchin Temple). There are three paths in the second screen when you're coming up (one from where you just came, and two that make you go around in circles). I know I'm forgetting something.... :(

You can't go that way you have to go around.
