Yes you can. Erika would have to pay to get rennec, but L'Arachel can requrit him for free. Have L'Archel talk to him. Organie a small group consisting of L'Arachel, Tethys, a Thief, and a couple of strong characters right outside the east-most entrance. Have te Thief open the door, then on the same turn, eleminate the knight and the shaman to clear the path. Hope I helped! Ps: If you get him, there is a secret shop in the top right corner. There is two arch lookin things by the boss. There are good items there.

What gamemaster said is true for Eirika's route. On Ephraim's route, have a strong unit with good Movement rescue L'Arachel and head towards the door on the right. Kill the knight in the middle and open the door with the key he drops. Rennac appears on turn 2 or 3. Drop L'Arachel just out of Rennac's Movement Range. Rennac will attack your "Guard". On the next turn, have L'Arachel talk to Rennac and Ta-the, you now possess Rennac the Rogue. There is a Secret Shop Rennac can access with his Member Card. Go to the left side of the Keep where there is an archer. Kill him. Behind him is a sort of window carved into the wall. Stand on the space right in front of it and your options should be:
-Secret <---- Pick this one.
-Item
-Wait
