I've heard that blue mages are the best jobs because they gain lots of stats in all the vital areas, like ATK magic ATK and defence stats. Is this true?

Well yes, but white mages and red mages also get a lot of XP, but if you're using the same attack for a long time and nothing different, you will start getting 1 AP :S
