When playing as goku ,how to defeat cell (complete cell)

What I did was to turn super sayan and get out a can of whoop @$$. In other words, get close to him and punch him till you lose super sayan mode.
Just keep hitting him super saiyan up and make him half dead so gohan will come to kill him.
Then you have to defeat cell Jr.
Then you become gohan super rage saiyan ansd the best is you're health will heal when hit by cell and then kill him.
