Where am I supposed to go after I have defeated the monster in the well..

Question for Breath of Fire II

Where am I supposed to go after I have defeated the monster in the well in captain?

I can't go any further because the ship with the thief left and never came back.

Also, I found a tolen in a drawer in an inn.

Is there some use for it because right now all it is doing is sitting in my inventory taking up space.

Capitan: After you fight the monster and save the villagers, Ray will ask you to show him your town. Take him there and you can teach someone Cure2 or Renew, depending on how many villagers you saved.

Tolen: Later in the game when you get to choose a carpenter to expand your town, if you pick the "tree-house" carpenter you can win items with tolens in a game a bit like Othello
