1.0 Introduction 1.111
----------------
Like most people, I was very interested with knowing more about the glitches.
I’ve been looking, and reading now, for months. I think that now I know almost
everything about the most well known glitches, in the Pokemon Red and Blue versions.
But, just so you know though, everything here is as detailed as I could get it, so it
may be a little confusing. If so, I apologize. I also try to update this as soon as I
can, so you will know everything new I learn. I hope you enjoy this, and learn something
more about the glitches.
WARNING!!!
!!!!!!!!!!Missingno. will not hesitate to hurt your game. It does not have a brain and won't
think twice about ruining your game. Use at your own risk.!!!!!!!!!!
--------------------------
2.0 What is Missingno.? 2.111
--------------------------
Missingno. is one of the most well known glitches. It can be thought of as many things;
the save file; a fourth legendary bird; a test Pokemon; or just a glitch. Let’s eliminate
some of those. If it was the save file, encountering and catching it, could corrupt the
game, even though this could happen. Also, releasing it would also corrupt the game. But, if you
try it that very rarely happens. If you ‘catch’ the save file it would make the game malfunction.
Even though the game does malfunction, it won’t delete the game, so it isn’t the save file. The thought of
it being a fourth legendary bird does seem a little logical, not much though. The
designers were making the birds, and decided to make a fourth. But halfway through it,
they decided to stop making it, and didn’t fully remove it from the game. They also say
that because it is type ‘Bird’ it was a legendary bird. But ‘Bird’ isn’t a type. I think
that this seems a little far fetched, and I also think that they would have either finished
making it, or gotten rid of it. Being a ‘test’ Pokemon could still be an option though.
They could have made it, to get more items, to test them. Or they could just check, to make
sure you can catch Pokemon. Or another reason is to check how high the item numbers go.
I don’t know, this one might possibly be true. Also, I’m not sure if it could be just a
glitch, I think it was used for something. Although it could still be just a glitch. Missingno. is
short for Missing Number, and its Pokedex entry number is 000. So it really is a missing number.
Missingno.’s most popular use is to get an infinite amount of whatever is in the sixth
slot of your item list. Although it isn’t infinite, it still is a very high amount (around 128 of the item. Imagine
all the money you could get by selling that many Nuggets). Missingno. also adds a non permanent glitch to your game.
The pictures in battles will become scrambled, and it could possibly delete the game, but there is a very
slim chance of this happening. Also, your Hall of Fame will become glitched up, and could possibly show Mew, in
the pictures. The glitches will go away after a few hours of playing, so nothing big
there. So I will give you a warning. Missingno. could possibly ruin your whole game(which has happened to me,
and your whole game becomes useless. My game never saved, and it deleted EVERYTHING that I had). Be careful and
don't do it if you're not sure about anything. If you need any help with anything please don't hesitate to email me.
-----------------------------------------
3.0 How to find Missingno. 3.111
-----------------------------------------
Now that you know all about Missingno., I’m sure you’re wanting to catch it now.
So here you go:
What you need:
A Pokemon with Fly
A Pokemon with Surf
Access to Virdian and Cinnabar
Master Ball (optional, but I suggest you use it)
Any important/rare items you want more of
STEPS:
0) Put the important/rare item in the sixth slot of your item pack (I suggest Master Balls,
Rare Candies or Nuggets).
1) Go to the man in Virdian City, that talks about getting coffee, shows you how to
catch Pokemon, etc.
2) Talk to him:
"Ahh, I've had my coffee now and I feel great!
Sure you can go through!
Are you in a hurry?" (Yes, No) Select No.
"I see you're using a POKEDEX.
When you catch a POKEMON, POKEDEX is automatically updated.
What? Don't you know how to catch POKEMON?
I'll show you then."
He'll take you in a battle with a wild Weedle. He'll catch it, like normal,
but notice the part where it says "Old Man used the Pokeball" it will be important later.
3) Fly to Cinnabar, and make sure you have room for 1 Pokemon in your party.
4) Surf on the East side of the island (half on land, half on water)
5) Just keep going up and down, on the coast, until you run into some Pokemon.
Eventually you'll run into Missingno., a Pokemon that looks really messed up, and
either level 0, or higher than 100.
6) If your Master Ball is in the sixth slot of your pack, use it. If not, use a lot of
Ultra Balls.
------------------------------
4.0 How it works 4.111
------------------------------
When you talk to the man in Virdian, he throws the Pokeball, and it says "Old Man". When
it does this, it doesn't use your name, like the game is supposed to. Therefore, the game
stores your name somewhere else. Where? When the programmers created the game, they said
that you could catch Pokemon on the East side of Cinnabar. But, they forgot to say which
Pokemon you can find. So when the game stores your name somewhere, it just so happens that
it goes in that one area, where it doesn't specify which Pokemon you can find. So,
depending on what letters you put in the 3rd, 5th, and 7th, it takes those, and turns them
into a Pokemon. Also, the other slots (2nd, 4th, and 6th) determine what levels the Pokemon are at.
Here's a list of what the levels are for each letter:

5.0 Missingno.’s move sets 5.111
---------------------------
When you catch Missingno., it will always have the moves; Water Gun, Water Gun, and Sky
Attack. I’m still not sure really why it has these moves. When I find out, I’ll put it
in here. Otherwise, that’s all there is here.

Some letters will give you some super awesome Missingno.’s. Here are the types, and some
example names to get you them:
w-Kabutops Fossil-Nowles, Rowdy, Arwin, Bowman, Dewey.

y-Ghost (the one in the Lavender tower)-Bayle, Chelsey, Cory, Austyn, Taylor
Also, some names for all of them-Rowdyix, Baydwox.
Or, be creative and make up your own.
-------------------------------------
7.0 Glitch City 7.111
-------------------------------------
What is glitch city? Most people think that it's Missingno.'s home. I don't really
believe that but, since most people do, I'll put information on it in here. Anyways, let me answer
that question in more detail. Glitch City is a... well, glitched city. In it you will find half buildings,
uncuttable trees, inaccessible caves, and be able to walk on water and surf on land. I think, and
that may be just me, that this could be where everything is stored in the game. I also think, that it's
two places put together. Let me tell you how to get there and then explain it.
1) Go into the safari zone.
2) Go to leave, and the man will ask if you want to leave early. Say no.
3) Save your game, and reset.
4) When it comes back on, leave. The man won't say anything until you walk past him and he'll ask if you want
to join. Say no.
5) Leave and go anywhere to spend your 500 steps (Surf on the East side of Cinnabar if you want, this is the most
popular glitch city)
6) The P.A. should go off after 500 steps. You will be teleported back to the Safari Zone. Leave, and you will
be in Glitch City.
So, to finish explaining. When you were in that one area that you were transported from, the game still had
that one area loaded, and when you go into Fuchsia, it tried to load both, and you end up with Glitch City. I was
also wondering though, why doesn't it do that, when you come from the area in the Safari Zone. I think that it was
programmed not to do that I guess, because it's supposed to stay normal, and not mess up. I think Nintendo was
trying to prevent a Glitch City, but they messed up. (If that was confusing that was just a little after thought.
Not really important) Also, if you noticed, when you go to a town, instead of the Cinnabar Island coast, like
Cinnabar Island, you will usually come out of the Mart, or another building. Ronnie Hall e-mailed me, and
told me that if you go to Virdian, you will come out of the locked gym. (Thanks Ronnie!!) It is also rumored
that there is a gym in Glitch City, and Missingno. is the leader. Missingno. also owns a Mewthree, and you get
the Mist Badge, if you can beat him. I don't know if this is true (it's not likely to be true though) but I'm
trying to figure it out, and I'll update this guide with any information I find.(PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, e-mail
me about ANYTHING you know about the Glitch City gym!!!)
WARNING:
!!!!!!!!!!NEVER save in glitch city!!! If you don't have a flying Pokemon, you *Could* be trapped in Glitch
City forever!!!!!!!!!!
Note:
If you have a fishing pole, you could get wild Pokemon, to make all your Pokemon faint. But if you have all
level 100 Pokemon, this could be VERY difficult. But still, NEVER SAVE IN GLITCH CITY!!!
-------------------------------------
8.0 Other Glitches 8.111
-------------------------------------
MEW GLITCH:
Make sure you don't battle the guy with a Slowpoke by Nugget Bridge, above Cerulean. Also, don't battle the
Gambler by the underground path between Celadon and Lavender. Have a flying Pokemon or an Abra that knows teleport.
Go to the Gambler and make him off the screen, or in other words if you walk one step down he'll see you. Step down
and push start immediately. Fly or teleport to Cerulean. Battle the youngster, but make sure he walks up to you,
not you walk up to him. After you win, go to Lavender, and walk to the route the Gambler is on. The start menu
should pop up, and when you exit, and level 7 Mew should appear. Catch it, and you'll have a Mew without any glitchy
effects.
INVISIBLE PC:
This isn't really a big glitch, but it's cool. Fly to Celadon city, and go into the hotel, beside the restaurant.
Now, we're going to use our imagination... Close your eyes... Imagine you're in a Pokemon Center... Remember
where everything is located... Open your eyes... Look at the Gameboy. Now, walk to where the PC would be in the
Pokemon Center. The building is exactly like a Pokemon Center, so it shouldn't be hard. Push A.You should have a
PC open and you can use it normally. This is kind of cool, because the building was made from a Pokemon Center,
but they forgot to remove the PC.
WEIRD TRUCK:
This actually isn't a glitch, but what would you call it? Either have a person trade you the HM for Cut,
or lose on the S.S. Anne, because you have to have Surf, to see it (or if you're too late to see it, check
the walk through people code below). Just surf left once you get by the S.S. Anne, and you'll see a truck.
The keys are in the Game Corner, but we don't know how to use them. That's it.
WALK THROUGH PEOPLE:
Okay, let's get this straight. You can't walk through everyone, only people by water, or solid objects.
Sorry. Go to Vermilion City. Go to the bridge where you board the S.S. Anne and go to the man who says the
ship set sail. Stand one step to his left, and up. Walk right and press start right away, so after you take
the step the game is paused. Save the game, and restart. Make your Pokemon surf, and you'll surf down, right
on top of the man. Surf down and you'll be behind him. Then, you can get on the S.S. Anne. You can also do this
in front of Bill's house, the man who lives above Nugget Bridge. You will be able to surf beside his house and
on the path beside it.
GO INTO THE BIKE PATH WITHOUT A BIKE:
Yep, this is a cool one, sort of. First, deposit your Bike into the PC. Go to Cycling Road, and try to get past the
guard. Just hold left the whole time, and after you talk to him a couple times, you can just walk right through,
and use a bike that you don't even have.
STAND ON A TREE:
All you do, is Cut a tree down, stand where it was, save your game, and restart. The game will load up with
you on a tree. Just step off of it.
STRANGE DITTO TRICK:
NOTE:I have never tried this before, but I believe this works.
First, go out and catch a Ditto. Next, go fight a wild Pidgey (I believe that it has to be north of Cerulean City)
Make your Ditto Transform into the Pidgey, and switch Gust and Sand Attack (by using Select)Beat the Pidgey.
Your Ditto should now have a move called Cooltrainer, and a move with no name. That's all I know. If anyone knows
the types of the moves, or anything else, please e-mail me.
MORE COMING SOON........
