Welcome to another FAQ of mine. This one covers the GameBoy game Pit-Fighter.
This is one of the more notorious games of the earlier generations of video
games. It was rather well-reviewed for the Super Nintendo variation of this
game, having unanimously earned 1/10 reviews by many. Still, the GameBoy game
has gone rather uncovered and, despite its bad reputation, I am here to try and
help you.

Playing the Game - The Fighters

There are three fighters from which you can choose to play. They have differing
qualifications and signature moves. You can swap between them with the Select
Button.

Each fighter also has a base damage set to their moves. It can vary, depending
on the opponent, but are general good indicators for what moves for the fighter
to use. Special move damage can vary too greatly for consideration here.

Personally, given all of the above data, it is readily assumable Kato is the
better choice among the two. His damage is more consistent that either Buzz's
or Ty's, and this damage is slightly above the average given. He can also
attack well. I'd recommend Kato for beginners.
Ty is perhaps the middle of the three. While he is not hit exceedingly often,
he has a tendency to be hit a little harder than the others. His kicking does
make up for this somewhat, so I'd recommend him for beginners looking for a bit
of a challenge.
Buzz by far is the hardest of the fighters to manage. His damage, overall, is
typically on the lower end of the spectrum. While he does not get hit hard, his
bulk does have a tendency to make him slower than the others. I don't
particularly recommend using Buzz at all unless you want a challenge.

Playing the Game - The Game
---------------------------
The game itself is rather simply described. You'll fight a consecutive string
of matches until you lose all of your health.
Health is lost by getting struck. Each of your fighters will have 160 total
units of health, whereas your opponents will generally be in the 250 or higher
range, and there is an overall trend of increasing max health. Your health,
however, remains the same between the fights. In other words, if you get hit,
you "stay hit" in the next round.
You will need to develop a strategy. A particularly effective one actually
involves Ty. If you are able to get your opponent next to the border of the
"pit", or fighting area, repeatedly pressing the B Button tends to be quite
effective. All in all, though, it is mostly a brawl based upon luck.
During the fight, the amount of money you have, found in the lower-left corner
of the screen below your health, will increase. This will also increase after
every round due to winning prizes. Rounds will end when someone is defeated.
The game ends if you lose, but you continue on if you win. You'll also receive
money and the ability to use Special Moves. You earn the chance to use a
Special Move one time after winning a round - the number of uses is indicated
by the "AB" next to your health.
As for the money we mentioned earlier, that is mostly just a score thing, so,
no, you will not find any kind of shop in this game.
Beyond this, though, it is mostly just repetition. The only other thing to note
is the occasional grudge match, in which you simply need to hit your opponent
three times to win. This match does not affect your health.
