That gym in Viridian City that has the fat man blocking the door, if you beat Giovanni in Saffron City, then that fat man should be out of the way and you should be able to go in.
P.S. It is a Ground-Type Gym, so you better pack some Water- and Flying- types.

Hey I just read on the internet cause I am playing the game right now. Kamis look out when you get there to fight with krillin and yamcha go on the opposit side of the door to the hyperbolic time chamber and use you're finishing move and blow up kamis house and a dragon ball should fall out.

The gym is in viridian city.the gym should be unlocked after you beat Blaine.P.S. Bring flying types.theyll do well with fighting types.bring water or grass to beat the ground types hope I helped.
