Hello, I'm trying to trade Pokemon between my Pokemon Crystal and Gold version but it doesn't work. It always says your friend isn't ready or Please wait all the time. Help?

Do you have a cable connected between your Gameboys? They could be faulty.
If you are using a DS, I have no idea because I have don't have one.
If you are not using cables with the Gameboys, you need to in order to trade Pokemon.
The cable could be bad or not inserted all the way. DS won't even play GB games, which sucks. And you have to do everything at the exact same time or it won't work. It helps to have a friend because it can be a real booger trying to do it yourself, unless you're ambidextrous.
In Pokemon red, blue, yellow, Gold, Silver & Crystal you need 2 Gameboy's and a gameboy Linkcable, connect the link cable to the side of the gameboys, gameboy color's and then try trading but be advised trading between R-B-Y, and G-S-C, some Pokemon can't be traded as they werent in the previous version and the can't be traded if the know any of the new moves depicted between the versions, other than that good luck trading.
I have a new link cable and am trying to trade between gold and crystal because I want my Pokémon to evolve.
Even though I am using 2 gba sp and the link cable.
Swithing randomly, either one or the other game keeps telling me "your friend is not ready" while in the other game the trading part moves on to the game saving moment. After which it shuts down the trade.
What can be wrong?
