Key to evolving it is trade while holding metal coat. If both of those requirements aren't fulfilled, there will be no evolution. Sorry.
There's only one way, trade while it holds a Metal Coat. Sorry.
Gameshark is the only other option if trading isn't possible.
That means you can't get scyther if you have no friends
Or if you have bad friends who don't like pokemon
