How do I get past the little whirlpools for the 4 Islands ???? What do I need and where do I get it ???

You need the Whirlpool HM and you get it from Lance after beating Team Rocket in Mahogany Town. (First go to Lake of Rage and battle/capture Gyrados. Then talk to Lance).
You need the whirlpool HM. You can get it from Lance in Mohagony town after beating the rockets.
