Well, basically, you get your level up high, and while your going to him, dont run into any of those magical guys. Level 20 should be enough. If you have any more questions, ask me, because I finished the game many, many times, and am at level 99, so if you have any more questions, I'm the one to go to.

Use your mucusandnauseam on him and he will get poisened.then,use petrificus totalus on him to make him paralazefor some turns.countinue hitting him untill he dies.

As 4 the basilisk,when you swing you're sword, press"a"and it will easily damaged him.

What you want to do is get your level up to at lease 20. And have the spell incindeo up to it's second level, that should do the trick.
